The California state Senate approved a resolution to the Independence Day of Ukraine. It is reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States.

The resolution was supported by the higher chamber of the California legislature. The document notes the significant contributions of Americans of Ukrainian descent in the enrichment of the political, economic and cultural heritage of the state.

The resolution is talking about the eternal struggle of the Ukrainian people for freedom, independence and democratic ideals, which is relevant at the current stage.

After voting for the resolution, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly met with the acting speaker of the state Senate Kevin de Leon and thanked him for his solidarity with Ukraine and discussed prospects of enhancing cooperation.

The meeting was also the Governor of Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili and MP Nadezhda Savchenko.
