Authorities in Western Canada urge motorists not to push a moose lick the salt off their cars. This is the BBC.

Recommended is at a distance of 30 m (100 feet) from licking machine moose.

To scare the moose local authorities offer with a car signal or alarm.

It is noted that an adult moose can weigh more than 453 kg, so it is unlikely to be able to push. Instead, the animal may become aggressive and try to attack.

Dr. Doug Whiteside of the calgary zoo says that moose and other wild animals usually get all they need salt in their natural diet. “If there is no available natural source of salt, they are looking for an alternative source, such as the salt on the roads or vehicles,” he says.
