In the zone of hostilities in the East of Ukraine is not actually respected the cease fire. About that German Chancellor Angela Merkel said at a joint with President Petro Poroshenko press conference.

Speaking about the implementation of the Minsk agreements, Merkel said:

“During the last hours we learned again that the cease-fire does not actually exist, that again killed the soldiers, and I have to say that the situation on the demarcation line of concern”.

Merkel recalled that, according to the UN, the conflict has killed about 10 thousand people. “And we have to do everything on the basis of the Minsk agreements to implement them, although this is, of course, difficult,” she said.

The German Chancellor expressed hope that the parties will continue to work in the Normandy format. “I believe that channel four, the channel format is the right way, and we will continue to stick with it despite obstacles to achieve peace in Ukraine, political stability, and territorial integrity of Ukraine. This road will not be easy,” – said Merkel.

Yesterday, January 29, in the area of ATO at the Donetsk direction the situation near Avdeevka has sharply worsened. Around 05:00 am invaders began a massive shelling of the Ukrainian positions with mortars and cannons. Posjet militants went on the offensive. The ATO forces attacked two assault groups, each of which consisted of 25-30 militants. The ATO forces managed to repel the attack of terrorists and seize one of the most advanced of their positions.

In fighting for the plant, which according to the headquarters, lasted continuously for 19 hours, five Ukrainian servicemen were killed and another 14 were injured. From the enemy’s losses, according to different sources, the loss of tens. According to staff, eliminated more than 15 militants.
