The national Commission carrying out regulation in the sphere of energy and communal services plans to reduce wholesale and retail electricity price from 1 January 2017 and 1 April 2017. The decision, as the press service of the regulator, will be taken at a meeting of the national Commission on 20 December.

In the draft resolution of the national Commission proposes to set the average wholesale market price for 2017 at the level 1285,06 UAH/MWh, without VAT (at the moment – 1490 UAH/MWh, without VAT).

In the quarterly cut price reduction as follows:

From 1 January 2017, the wholesale market price will be reduced by 10% and will be 1341,57 UAH/MWh.

From 1 April 2017, the wholesale market price will be reduced by another 5.8% and will be 1263,76 UAH/MWh.

In the third and fourth quarters of 2017, the price reduction is not scheduled.

The Minister of energy and coal industry Igor Nasalik in the channel 112 confirmed this information, stating that the reduction will be the first in 25 years.

It is also reported that the basis for this decision will become stable electricity generation in Ukraine.

We will remind, on 13 December, the head of Naftogaz of Ukraine Andriy KOBOLEV told the conditions under which Ukraine could be reduced the price of gas for households and industry.
