Solomenskiy district court of Kyiv allowed the holding in absentia proceedings in the case against fugitive ex-Deputy Oleksandr Onishchenko. The corresponding decision was accepted the judge of Solomensky court of Kiev Alexander Bobrovnik, reports Hromadske.tv.

Prosecutor Andrei Perov said that the investigation insists on a correspondence investigation, as Onishchenko hiding from law enforcement abroad. According to the latest information, he is now in Spain, where also the trial continues on his possible extradition.

At the same time, lawyers Onishchenko was against in absentia proceedings. “This procedure was provided for several other crimes. But then for some reason the legislator decided to expand. As for me, it was a mistake. I ask to refuse satisfaction of this petition,” – said the lawyer Oleg Ishchenko.

The application for a special pre-trial (in absentia) the investigation concerns also five possible accomplices Onishchenko. In particular, the mother of MP Inessa Kadyrova.

13 Dec 2017 Solomensky regional court of Kiev declared a break in consideration of the application of Special anti-corruption prosecutors to conduct extramural investigations against Onishchenko, as during the meeting, the lawyers announced the withdrawal of the investigating judge.
