Starobelsk district court in Luhansk region today extended the measure of restraint in form of detention until 12 June 2017, former Chairman of the Party of regions faction in Verkhovna Rada Alexander Efremov, correspondent

Judge Alexander Pelikh said that stated in the petition of Prosecutor’s office risks to Ephraim concerning change of a measure of restraint has not diminished and there are now.

The Prosecutor explained his position to the fact that the Efremov can leave Ukraine, but also to influence the process, using his pressure on witnesses to change their testimony.

Attorneys Ephraim said that the arguments of the Prosecutor “inconclusive”. “This is not a court, and rudeness what are You doing?” – told the judge Efremov, demanding to invite a witness in the case, when Pelikh adjourned.

In comments the lawyer ex-the regional Evgeniy Solodko, answering question via telephone on extension of detention nervously said: “What You want to hear, huh? So – I do not confirm, okay?”, and then hung up.

Yefremov was detained July 30, 2016 at the Boryspil airport. He is suspected of infringement of territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.

1 August Pechersky district court of Kyiv satisfied the petition of Prosecutor’s office and chose Ephraim as a preventive measure in the form of two months of detention, up to 28 September.

Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko is convinced that Yefremov personally involved in fomenting war in Eastern Ukraine.
