Starobilsk district court of Luhansk region on Thursday, November 23, rejected the defense motion on the abolition of measures of restraint in form of detention of the former head of fraction of Party of regions Alexander Efremov. This reports the press service of the Prosecutor General.

“The court questioned one witness for the prosecution and considered the defense motion on the abolition of measures of restraint in form of detention. Upon review, the court left Ephraim in custody”, – is spoken in the message.

It is also said that the next meeting will be held on November 28 at 10.00 am, during which the planned interrogation of two witnesses.

Yefremov was detained July 30, 2016 at the Boryspil airport. He is suspected of infringement of territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.

On 30 August it was reported that the planned interrogation of one of the key witnesses, former Deputy commander of the Tornado Nicholas did not take place. For the second time in the period of consideration of the case.

On 17 November the court granted the request of prosecutors and the arrest was extended until January 15, 2018, inclusive.
