The leader of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh criticized the decision of U.S. President Donald trump on the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and urged the Palestinian Arabs to a new intifada, that is, armed struggle against the Israelis. Such a statement he made in Gaza on Thursday, December 7, reports channel Al Jazeera.
Haniyeh called the notorious decision in the White house “declaring war on Palestinians.”
“This decision has killed the peace process, killed the Oslo (peace agreements concluded by Israel and Palestine in Oslo in the 1990-ies – ed.) killed the process of settlement,” he said.
“We need to work on the outbreak of the intifada (Arab military movement for control of Palestine and the destruction of Israel – ed.) the face of the Zionist enemy,” said Hamas leader.
Haniyeh stressed that all of Jerusalem should belong to Palestinians as the “capital of their future state”.
He also urged all Palestinian factions for the early Association, “to develop a strategy to face the occupation and the policy of the US administration in the Palestinian territories”.
