The situation around North Korea to discuss on the sidelines of the General political debate of the UN General Assembly. This was announced by UN Secretary-General, antónio Guterres, in a statement released in connection with another missile launch by Pyongyang, according to the UN news Center.
Guterres condemned the latest launch of a ballistic missile developed by North Korea. He called on the leadership of this country to cease to carry out such launches to examine the possibility of resuming an honest dialogue on denuclearization.
The statement also refers to the need “to stop further testing, to comply with the requirements of the relevant resolutions.”
Earlier today, North Korea launched another missile unidentified type from Pyongyang, which flew over Japanese territory and fell into the Pacific ocean near the island of Hokkaido.
The launch was a few days after the UN security Council imposed new sanctions against Pyongyang. Today the security Council will hold in conjunction with the launch of an emergency meeting.
