Iraqi forces are “completely liberated Rav and raised the Iraqi flag over the buildings,” said Lieutenant-General in the Iraqi army.

The capture of the city marks the end of the territorial era of the Islamic state over the so-called Caliphate, which he declared in 2014 on the territory of Iraq and Syria.
