Brussels could start to build a relationship with Ukraine and Turkey, based on a new model, the result of a British exit from the European Union. This opinion was expressed by the foreign Minister of Germany, Sigmar Gabriel, the Agency reports Deutsche Welle.
“If we can work out a reasonable agreement with the UK governing its relationship with the EU after Brexit, it could become a model applicable to other countries: Ukraine and Turkey”, – said the Minister.
Gabriel believes that in the coming years these two countries will not become EU members.
“In this regard, we should consider alternative forms for closer cooperation”, – said the foreign Minister of Germany.
