The Council of foreign Ministers of member countries of the European Union at its meeting on 6 February 2017 under the chairmanship of the EU high representative for foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini will discuss the situation in Ukraine, in particular the reform and the implementation of the Minsk agreements for Donbass. This is stated in the message on the website of the EU Council.

“It is planned to assess progress in implementation of the program of reforms in Ukraine over the past year. The Ministers will hold a discussion on how to enhance the impact of EU support. In particular, they will appreciate the support of the EU in the implementation of the Minsk agreements”, – stated in the message.

Also, the foreign Ministers will discuss the situation in Libya a year after the formation there of a government of national consent. In addition, it is planned to discuss cooperation with Libya in addressing the problem of illegal migration in the Mediterranean.

Another item on the agenda – the situation in Egypt and the development of its relations with the EU. Foreign Minister can also look more specifically at migration issues, fight against terrorism and the role of Egypt in the region.

On 29 January the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in early February, will discuss the Minsk agreement and the situation in the Donbass.
