The EU will take a firm position during negotiations with the UK and will require it to meet financial obligations. This was stated by German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble, reports UKRINFORM.
“The UK should not exit the EU to get the benefits not found in other countries,” he said.
Schaeuble urged London to meet its financial obligations to the EU.
“Nothing is for free. The British should know that,” said the Minister.
Schaeuble believes that, after Brexit, the contributions of Germany to the EU budget should not increase – the money is enough, they just need to make better use of.
Today go through the emergency EU summit where the 27 EU countries must agree on a position for negotiations with Britain.
