The Cabinet of Ministers approved financial plan of Ukrzaliznytsia for 2017, which contains no provisions about increase of tariffs for passenger transportation. This decision was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet today, 13 September, according to Government portal.
Commenting on the decision, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said: “We support the creation of strategy of development of Ukrainian Railways, but there can be no question about the growth of prices for passenger transport”.
According to Groisman Ukrzaliznytsia requires a massive upgrade, but this process needs to occur simultaneously with the destruction of all corruption schemes that existed in the enterprise, as well as full coordination of tariffs for cargo transportation.
Earlier it was reported that the financial plan of Ukrzaliznytsia 2017 provides 10.5 billion UAH of losses from passenger transportation.
