Federal security service of the United States will hold 2 Sep searches at the Consulate General of Russia in San Francisco, which at the request of the American authorities announced the closure, and in apartments of employees of the diplomatic mission. This was stated by the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

“U.S. intelligence agencies bent on September 2 to conduct a search in the Consulate General in San Francisco, including the homes of employees living in his building and having the immune system, which ordained that they and their families, including young children and even infants for 10-12 hours left occupied premises”, – is spoken in the message.

Earlier today, September 2, it was reported that over the building of the Russian Consulate in San Francisco spotted a column of black smoke. The people who left the building told firefighters that there were no problems and that the staff of the Consulate burned unidentified items in the fireplace.

31 August 2017, the US state Department has demanded from Russia to close its Consulate General in San Francisco, Chancery division in Washington, D.C., and consular division in new York.

July 8, 2017 Russia demanded that the United States has taken steps to reduce the number of American diplomats in Russia and technical personnel to 455 people.

During yesterday’s conversation on this topic with U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson Lavrov said that Moscow would react to the closure of the Russian Consulate General in San Francisco and two other diplomatic facilities after studying the declared American actions.
