The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Alexander danyluk confirmed that Ukraine intends to attract €1.8 billion under the new macro-financial assistance of the European Union. This is reported by Ukrainian news.
“This is a new step towards strengthening cooperation with the European Union. Similar programs have helped our neighbours to develop, in particular, to introduce important reforms and improve infrastructure,” – said danyluk.
According to him, it was agreed that the terms of this funding programme will meet key government priorities and strategic goals of the country.
“Detailed conditions, we will consider and discuss with our European colleagues in the near future. Work on this issue the Ministry of Finance is already beginning this week,” – said the Minister.
President Petro Poroshenko on November 24 announced the agreement with the European Commission on the allocation of Ukraine of macro-financial assistance for 2018 and 2019. Later that same day it became known that the amount of aid will amount to €1.8 billion.
