The foreign Ministers of the EU countries expressed support for the democratic institutions of Turkey. It is reported by Anadolu.

The foreign Ministers of the EU held an emergency meeting in connection with the coup attempt in Istanbul and Ankara.

The meeting was held in the Mongolian capital, Ulan Bator, where a summit of Asia-Europe.

High representative of the European Union for foreign Affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini expressed on behalf of Ministers to support democratic institutions of Turkey.

She noted that the EU condemns violence against these institutions.

Mogherini said that he had discussed the issue during talks with Turkish foreign Minister mevlüt çavuşoğlu and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

Later Friday evening, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said the attempted military coup in the country by the military. Later media reported that the army declared the seizure of power. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on his supporters to take to the streets.

Later the initiators of the military coup in Turkey, announced the introduction of martial law, curfews and the imminent adoption of a new Constitution in Turkey. The message on it read the broadcast journalists of the state television channel TRT, which took control of the military.
