The words of the Minister of foreign Affairs of Germany Sigmar Gabriel stating that Brussels could build a relationship with Ukraine based on the new model that emerged following the exit of Britain from the EU is “thinking out loud”. This opinion was expressed by Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Elena zerkal on air of the 5th channel.
“This model has not yet formed, it is actually speculation about what kind of model they can form on the basis of all negotiations and the withdrawal of Britain from the European Union,” she said. In addition, the words of Gabriel, given the processes in the European Union, more about Turkey, rather than Ukraine, according to the mirror.
“So we’re going with Turkey in the sense of Gabriel. How interconnected countries that are equal in territory, population and the level of desire of integration,” she added.
Earlier today, Gabriel said that if the EU will be able to develop “reasonable agreement with the UK governing its relationship with the EU after Brexit, it could become a model applicable to other countries: Ukraine and Turkey”.
