The growth of Ukraine’s economy in 2017 could reach 1.8%, and in 2020 will accelerate to 4%. This was announced by the President Petro Poroshenko, speaking in Parliament with the annual message to the Verkhovna Rada, the correspondent of LIGA.net.
“This year we forecast growth of 1.8%, the expected acceleration of economic growth in 2020 to 4%,” – said the President.
According to the accounting chamber, the growth of real GDP in Ukraine in January-June 2017 2.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
By the end of 2017, the Ministry expects the continuation of GDP growth at 1.8% -2%.
The national Bank of Ukraine has decided to worsen the Outlook for Ukraine’s GDP for this year from 1.9% to 1.6%.
The Cabinet of Ministers has downgraded the forecast of GDP and inflation for 2017 to 1.8% and 11.2%, respectively.
The IMF also lowered its economic growth forecast for Ukraine for this year to 2% from 2.9%. For 2018, the forecast, on the contrary, improved from 3% to 3.1%.
In 2016 Ukraine’s GDP grew by 2.3%. By the end of 2015 fell by 9.8% in 2014 to 6.6%.
