The Minister of foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius is going to on Friday, February 10, to visit Donbass to familiarize with the current situation in the ATO zone. This was announced by first Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s representative to the Humanities subgroup of the trilateral contact group Irina Gerashchenko in Facebook.
Gerashchenko said that he had met with Lithuanian foreign Minister and thanked him for his firm stance of his country regarding the restoration of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
“In addition to issues of bilateral relations and inter-parliamentary dialogue, discussed the humanitarian and security situation in the Donbass, issues of human rights violations in the occupied Crimea. Ukraine is extremely concerned about the fact that the final report of the OSCE/ODIHR (OSCE Office for democratic institutions and human rights – ed.) according to the results of observation of the elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation 2016 completely ignored the facts of the illegal annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation. We believe that the OSCE needs to improve the monitoring methodology, which uses ODIHR”” – said Gerashchenko.
”And tomorrow we together with the Minister will visit Donbas to see for ourselves the security situation and the humanitarian situation”, – said the first Deputy speaker of Parliament.
It was reported earlier, Ukraine submitted to the European court of human rights five claims against Russia for occupation of Crimea, military aggression in the Donbass, about the violation of human rights in the occupied territories and the illegal export of orphans in Russia.
