The international monetary Fund (IMF) plans to continue to discuss with the Ukrainian authorities a draft budget for 2018. This is stated in the press release of the Fund with reference to the IMF resident representative in Ukraine Jost of Longman.

It is reported that the IMF experts visited Kyiv during the period from 9 to November 17 for a technical discussion of the draft budget for 2018. “The discussion will continue in the coming weeks in order to ensure compliance with the adopted budget deficit of 2.5% of GDP, which is coordinated by the economic reform program of Ukraine supported by the Fund”, – said Longman.

We will remind, on November 14, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft state budget for 2018 in the first reading.

The project budget was registered in the Verkhovna Rada on September 15.

The document envisages GDP growth of 3%, inflation at 7%, budget deficit of 2.4% of GDP, the exchange rate was 29.3 UAH/$.

According to the regulations of the Verkhovna Rada in the first reading the draft state budget must be adopted before October 20, the second until 20 November. In General, the law needs to be adopted before 1 December.
