The Ministry of internal Affairs explained why not delay the ex-Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili, who is accused of illegally crossing the Ukrainian border. This was reported by Bi-bi-si.

“Now there are all the necessary investigative actions in accordance with the norms of the Criminal procedure code by agreement with the prosecution required of judicial decisions”, – said the representative of the Ministry of internal Affairs Artem Shevchenko.

He added that investigative actions affect not only Saakashvili, but also all of the people involved in the breakthrough of the border on Sunday evening.

The investigation continues under article No. 332 of the criminal code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of persons across state border). Guilty on this article, is threatened by imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.

Earlier the Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov stated that all who participated in the illegal crossing of the Polish-Ukrainian border together with Saakashvili will be prosecuted according to the law – including people’s deputies.
