Interpol was removed from the international wanted list ex-the head of the State Agency of forest resources Victor Siwiec. The reason – the refusal of the Ukrainian court to apply a measure of restraint in form of detention. Said this in comments to UKRINFORM Deputy Prosecutor General Evgeny ENIN.
“This decision of the Commission of control of Interpol files. The reason – “the most humane court in the world,” who once refused to the investigators in the application of measures of restraint in form of detention. Accordingly Siwiec took advantage of this and appealed against the red card,” he explained.
As reminds Agency, on November 20, the PGO received a letter from Interpol stating about the removal from search of Siwiec and his wife – the citizen of Russia Marina Zhuravleva.
Pechersky district court of Kiev has twice denied the state office of public Prosecutor satisfaction of the petition for leave to in absentia conviction of Siwiec. Prosecutors filed another motion.
On 26 may, the Prosecutor General’s office reported Viktor Siwiec and his wife on suspicion of legalization of proceeds of crime and accepting bribes.
From 2011 to 2014 Siwiec held the position of head of the State Agency of forest resources under the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych.
