The market of home appliances and electronics in Ukraine in the second quarter of 2016 increased by 33.3% compared to the same period in 2015, to 11 billion. This is evidenced by research company GfK TEMAX
Best results were recorded in the sectors of telecommunications equipment and major appliances. They have increased sales revenues by 51.5% and 42.9% to 3.65 billion and of 2.42 billion respectively.
The main drivers of growth in the sector of telecommunications equipment market in the second quarter were smartphones, and mobile headsets – is 58.9% and 67%, respectively. The high growth rates demonstrate the smartphones price class 4-6 thousand UAH – 159% versus the second quarter of 2015.
During the reporting period, sales of consumer electronics increased by 22.9% compared to the same period last year. Market volume totaled 1.25 billion UAH.
Sales leaders in the sector of major appliances was the washing machine and the hob – 50,4% and 43.1%, respectively.
The sector of small household appliances in Q2 increased sales by 18.2% to 965 million UAH . The greatest demand of buyers used the vacuum cleaner (sales growth of 33.5%) and products to care for themselves.
Sales of cameras for the reporting period increased by 0.4% compared to the same period in 2015 and amounted to 138 million.
In the second quarter of 2016 the market size of information technologies has reached 2.48 billion UAH. This is 18.5% more than in the second quarter of 2015. The laptop sector grew by 28.5%. Also rising sales of the stationary PC – by 39.8%, monitors, and computer peripherals, while sales of tablet computers remained at the level of the same period of 2015.
The market of office equipment in the second quarter of 2016 increased by 19.4% to 162 million, due to sales growth of MFPs 25% multifunction devices.
