President Petro Poroshenko during his visit to the United Arab Emirates met with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko. On Thursday, November 2, reported the press service of the Ukrainian President.
It is noted that the presidents were satisfied with the agreements reached following the official visit of Lukashenka to Ukraine in July 2017.
“They particularly noted the resumption of bilateral demarcation Commission and strengthening of trade-economic cooperation at the regional level the two countries”, – stated in the message.
Poroshenko and Lukashenko also discussed the preparations for the economic forum of regions of Ukraine and Belarus in Gomel.
“Special attention was paid to coordination of positions within international organizations. The parties also exchanged views on the preparations for the Eastern partnership summit, to be held on November 24 in Brussels,” – said in the AP.
The press service Poroshenko published a photograph from this meeting. Judging from the picture, the talks were held in an informal setting, as evidenced by the absence of the presidents tie.
20-21 July 2017 Lukashenko made an official visit to Kiev. Following the talks with Belarusian President Poroshenko said that he had received from colleagues the assurance that the territory of Belarus would not be used for aggressive actions against Ukraine.
