The foreign Ministry of Ukraine outraged by the unilateral decision of Russia to withdraw its troops from the Joint center for control and coordination (JCCC) and considers this step as “another provocation”. A statement published on the Ministry website.

“We regard this unprecedented move as yet another provocation, which significantly undermines the Minsk agreements and the desire to absolve themselves of any liability, as the parties to the conflict, the consequences of the armed aggression against our country,” – said in a statement.

The foreign Ministry believe that the decision on the withdrawal of the representatives of the Russian Federation of SCCC is an attempt to force Ukraine to hold direct talks with the militants.

“This step once again demonstrates that Moscow does not leave attempts to force Ukraine and international partners to begin a “direct dialogue” with the militants of illegal armed groups…” – said in a statement.

The Ministry also noted that in its decision, the Kremlin significantly increases the risks for the security of SMM OSCE, including with the aim of imposing Ukraine unacceptable accommodation of UN peacekeepers in the Donbass.

The foreign Ministry believes that Russia, as a party to the conflict in the Donbass, is solely responsible for the development of the security situation.

While the Ministry noted that the Ukrainian part of SCCC will continue its work in normal mode, working with the SMM OSCE in the bilateral format.

“Ukraine appeals to international partners to strengthen political and diplomatic pressure on the Kremlin to avoid steps that could lead to the disruption of the Minsk agreements”, – said in a statement.

19 December, Russia withdraws its representatives from SCCC. The Russian foreign Ministry claimed that the center “has faced serious difficulties because of the position of the Ukrainian authorities”.
