The Ministry of foreign Affairs intends to employ for the release of political prisoners Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko and Crimean activist Gennady Afanasiev in the framework of the established platform for Ministry. This was announced by the foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin during the 12th Council of heads of foreign diplomatic missions in Ukraine, the correspondent of ЛІГА.net.
“We understand that over the past two and a half years we have a fundamentally new task – the release of political prisoners… next week we have the foreign Ministry will operate a special platform that will interact non-governmental organizations, special representatives of the foreign Ministry will work with Gennady Afanasyev and Yury Lutsenko… And together we will coordinate the care and release of political prisoners,” – said Klimkin.
He added that Ukraine intends to achieve recognition of the international community presence by the Russian authorities of racial discrimination of the Crimean Tatar people on the territory of annexed Crimea.
“In the framework of the arbitration after consultation, we will prove that Russia has violated all the laws in the framework of the Convention of the prohibition of terrorism financing, we will prove that what is happening on the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea, is a real racial discrimination”, – said the Minister of foreign Affairs.
