The agreement on a ceasefire in the conflict zone in the Donbass is a key step towards restoring stability, normalising the situation and, ultimately, to peace in the region. This was stated by the head of the special monitoring mission of the OSCE Ertugrul Apakan. About it reports a press-service of the OSCE.
During the meeting once again urged the parties to adhere to a full and sustainable ceasefire, under the existing arrangements.
“Strict adherence to a full and sustainable ceasefire is a key requirement of the Minsk agreements. It is a political and moral duty”, – is spoken in the message.
As a first step, the message requested the diversion of weapons in accordance with the Minsk agreements, as well as “the gap fire contact”. These efforts, according to Apakan will represent a significant development of the situation towards peace.
