Special monitoring mission of the OSCE has every right to visit and temporarily occupied the Crimea, however, the aggressor state Russia prevents observer access to the Peninsula. This second President, the representative of Ukraine in the tripartite contact group Leonid Kuchma said on 14-th annual meeting of Yalta European strategy, according to UKRINFORM.

“There is a decision of the OSCE: a special mission of the OSCE has the ability to travel throughout Ukraine without any limitations. We believe that Crimea is our territory, and always put a question: listen, let’s let the OSCE mission. No, all”, – he said, commenting on the question about how to solve the problem of the liberation of the Crimean political prisoners and what platform it is being discussed.

Kuchma added that the question of the admission of SMM OSCE in Crimea Ukraine raises always: “All the time we put (a question). We don’t set and cry. But…”

September 16, 2017, the special envoy of the US state Department in Ukraine Kurt Volker said that even if Russia will fulfill the Minsk agreements in the Donbass, against her will act sanctions over the annexed Crimea.

Russia occupied the Crimean Peninsula in 2014. The Verkhovna Rada announced on 20 February 2014 beginning of the temporary occupation of the Crimea by Russia. Key international organizations, including the UN General Assembly, condemned the Kremlin’s actions. Against Russia was introduced on personal and sectoral sanctions. For the implementation by Moscow of the so-called parliamentary elections with the participation of the Crimea in 2016 Parliament recognized the state Duma illegitimate.
