First Deputy head of the Special monitoring mission of OSCE in Ukraine Alexander hug considers that there is a real opportunity to end the war in the Donbass. He stated this at a briefing in Kiev, transfers UNIAN.

“Now it is possible to put an end to this conflict. For the first time in a long time, I have strong hope that it is real,” said hug.

He also urged the parties to fully trust. “It is a prerequisite for lasting and sustainable ceasefire. This can be achieved only if the parties take all of the banned weapons from the security zone, if they are bred of the forces and means” – he added.

The BBC also encouraged the parties to ensure unhindered access of observers, having signed the relevant agreement. “Access is extremely important in this context. Subject to the provision of access SMM may conduct a verification of compliance with agreements, which may contribute to the development of trust relations,” he said.

Earlier, the Minister of foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin at the meeting with the foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that a ceasefire in the Donbass really lasted only 1-2 days.
