OSCE will conduct monitoring of elections in the occupied Crimea, and “favorites” from the Peninsula members of the Duma will not be legitimate. About that today at the briefing said the permanent representative of Ukraine to the international organizations in Vienna Ihor Prokopchuk, the correspondent ЛІГА.net.
“OSCE monitoring will be held on the territory of the Russian Federation within the framework of internationally recognized borders. With regard to the occupied part of Ukraine, the persons selected” there will not have legitimacy, and this topic will be on the order of the day not only inter-governmental part of the OSCE and the parliamentary Assembly,” he said.
Prokopchuk noted that the Office for democratic institutions and human rights OSCE will not monitor “elections” in the occupied Crimea.
“Crimea is an integral part of Ukraine, and those elections that take place in the territory of the Russian Federation, from the point of view of the OSCE ODIHR, are unable to reach the Crimea. Countries may invite observers only to its territory. And the Crimea is not Russian territory. ODIHR will not observe what will happen in this part of Ukraine”, – said Prokopchuk.
