The Parliament of Montenegro unanimously voted to ratify the North Atlantic Treaty, thus supporting the accession of Montenegro to NATO. About it reports RTCG.
The vote symbolically held in the historic and cultural capital of Montenegro – Cetinje.
“NATO and the EU was and remains the guarantor of peace and stability, the main basis for economic and social prosperity,” said Prime Minister Dusko Markovic.
28 March 2017, the US Senate finally approved the application of Montenegro for membership in NATO. The decision was supported by 97 members of the upper house of Congress, two senators voted against it.
On 11 April, the President of the United States Donald trump signed the instrument of ratification of the Protocol on Montenegro’s accession to NATO.
