The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered the draft law “On amendments to the Tax code of Ukraine to reduce the cost and increase the availability of individual electric transport in Ukraine,” according to enkorr.

The draft law was initiated by a group of 15 people’s deputies from the faction of the Radical party, people’s front, Petro Poroshenko Bloc and the Opposition bloc.

The bill provides for temporary, until 2022, the complete abolition of value added tax on electric cars when they are released from customs.

The document also refers to the exemption from value added tax until 2021 entities engaged in commercial activities involving electric. In particular, I mean the taxi service, rental, leasing and transportation on request.

In addition, the bill is expected to repeal the excise tax on electric cars in Ukraine until 2022.

Recall that in 2016, the excise duty was reduced to 109 euros per electric car.

In January-may 2017 Ukraine has received the first registration number 958 passenger cars. Thus, the share of vehicles with zero emissions on the primary market of passenger cars amounted to nearly 2%.
