Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Svyatoslav Shevchuk agreed to become the donor after his death. It is reported by the information resource of the UGCC.

“If after death I can continue to do good, why not. (…) That is, if our bodies after our death can save another life, then I think this is really necessary”, – said the head of the Church.

Shevchuk noted that the Ukrainian zakonodatelstvo must change because the current situation only worsens the situation with the transplantation of organs and indirectly stimulates “black” Transplantology.

“I think we all need to understand what is moral goodness of such an act, how we should act personally and how to take care of the patients who need such assistance, might be saved in their native Ukraine”, – said the head of the UGCC.
