The ban on entry to Poland Ukrainian citizens already active and it concerns exclusively government officials. In an interview with PAP said the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Bartosz Cichocki.
He reiterated the position of the Polish side – the names from the list will not be made public; the Ukrainians, who are denied entry, they learn about it directly at the border.
The Deputy Minister said that the SBU has banned entry to Ukraine a number of Polish scientists, social activists and officials of local authorities “after they spoke out critically about the historical policy of the Ukrainian state.” However, he noted that these statements do not reflect the official position of Poland, “and yet these people fell under the sanctions of the Ukrainian side.” They also learned about the ban on entry at the border, said Cichocki.
“We are talking about the officials – representatives of the Ukrainian state, not the journalists, analysts, teachers or artists, about the officials who make decisions that not only affect the feelings of the poles, as, for example, the non-recognition of the Volyn crime, but also celebrating the formation of Ukrainian who collaborated with Nazi Germany. It’s not anti-Polish approach, while the anti-European – as a denial of all that many Ukrainians gave their lives and health during the Revolution of dignity”, – said the Deputy foreign Minister of Poland.
Earlier, the Polish newspaper Dziennik, citing sources reported that Poland banned the entry of the head of the Ukrainian national Institute of national remembrance Vladimir Viatrovych. According to the publication, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski said the Polish side is the list of Ukrainians, who are banned entry to the country. Later the Polish foreign Ministry confirmed the information about preparing the list.
