First Deputy Chairman of Uzhgorod city Council Stephen the DAC and one of the deputies of the city Council, the Prosecutor’s office announced on suspicion of corruption in criminal proceedings. They are accused of receiving improper benefits for addressing land issues, the press service of the Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region.

The Deputy Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region Andrey Mankuta said that the DAC is reported about suspicion in Commission of a criminal offense under part 3 St. 368 (obtaining illegal benefit by the official) UK of Ukraine.

With one of the members of the city Council, which is one of the defendants in the criminal proceedings, conducted initial investigations and provided round the clock security, despite the fact that the latter is on treatment in one of the medical facilities.

With regard to the detainee at the receipt of improper benefits – 20 thousand UAH intermediary, he is in prison and with it investigative actions are carried out, informs a press-service.

“The Prosecutor’s office submitted to court the petition for election to all suspects of a measure of restraint in form of detention without determining the amount of the cash collateral,” – said the Deputy Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region. Also, the office of public Prosecutor demands to suspend the duties of Istvan Goat during pre-trial investigation, the report said.

25 January 2017 Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko said first Deputy mayor of Uzhgorod Stephen DAC allegedly accused of extorting 40 thousand hryvnias from the businessman for resolution of land privatization. The DAC is not contacted with the investigation, so the police were checking information about a possible flight abroad.

27 Jan DAC independently came to the regional Prosecutor’s office.
