Monday, 7 August 2017, it became known that the railway in the Rostov and Voronezh regions, built to bypass the territory of Ukraine, put into operation.
As told Alexander Zavgorodniy, former head of Ukrainian Railways, head of the Ukrainian center for reform of transport infrastructure: “This branch, which took place on the border between the two countries, ever since 1991, was not in the operation of Ukrzaliznytsia. The district Council gave the land and the property in rent for 49 years of Railways”.
“For Ukrzaliznytsya it represents no losses and prospects. After the partition of the USSR, this section of the railway remained in our territory along the border with Russia and were only used the Railways to pay the rent Ukrzaliznytsia, the Railways had refused, so this issue was raised Ukrzaliznytsia at all meetings of the Organization for cooperation of Railways.
