The author of the famous graffiti Icons of the Revolution that gets painted on the facade of the store Emporium in Kiev on the street Grushevskogo, appealed to Ukrainians with a statement in which he called reports about the beginning of works on restoration of an attempt of fraud and public relations. This artist with the alias Sociopath wrote on his page in Facebook.
“I like you, sorry that happened to you. However, none of the representatives of state institutions, except for ordinary Ukrainians, not turned to me with a request to restore the picture. I hope you understand that the unauthorized renewal in this situation is impossible”, – said the artist.
He also answered the statement of the shop owner Igor Dotsenko that his work can be bought in the market.
“I don’t sell his work, Souvenirs, etc., therefore, I urge you not to buy stolen goods”, – he said.
Sociopath also promised to restore the destroyed drawings when “the situation will get proper development.”
“I read that a group of artists, like, tomorrow – September 4, will restore the pictures without my participation. It’s a shame, but this step, for me, is nothing more than an attempt to deceive us all and to be promoted on this situation,” – said the author of the work.
He notes that a trilogy of pictures in a single copy in his collection, as well as the stencils that were created in 2014 on the facade of the building. “They’re still in maydanovskoy soot,” added the artist.
