Criminal proceedings against the leader of the terrorist organization LNR Igor Carpenter and two militants in the Downing of Ukrainian military transport aircraft Il-76 under Lugansk transferred to the court. Reports a press about it-service of Prosecutor’s office of Dnipropetrovsk region.

“The Prosecutor’s office of Dnipropetrovsk region approved and sent to the court indictment against the head of the terrorist organization LNR I. Carpenter and two commanders of the “battalions” of A. Patrushev, and A. Gureeva in the case of the downed aircraft Il-76. The actions of these individuals qualified as a terrorist act (part 3 of article 258 of the criminal code of Ukraine)”, – stated in the message.

As explained in the Prosecutor’s office, Carpenter’s, which at the time of the offense was the leader of an illegal armed formation dawn, together with Andrey Patrushev (then his Deputy) and the leader of an illegal armed formation knight Alexander by Garaevym are accused of shooting down military transport aircraft Il-76, on Board of which there were 49 people during the implementation of landing at the airport of Lugansk.

June 14, 2014, terrorists shot down a Ukrainian military transport aircraft Il-76 at landing approach at the airport of Lugansk. On Board the plane were nine crew members and 40 paratroopers 25-th separate Dnepropetrovsk airborne brigade. They all died.

Also a defendant in this case is the major General of Ukraine Viktor Nazarov, who at the time of the tragedy were chief of the General staff and acting chief of the ATO headquarters. He is accused of official negligence that led to the tragedy of Il-76. He Nazarov pleaded not guilty.
