The parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted the rule that the demand from the Ukrainian by-elections to the Verkhovna Rada in the territories not controlled by Ukraine. It is reported from Strasbourg correspondent for the European truth.

According to the report, the amendment which contained this requirement, was proposed by the Pro-Russian MP from Germany Andrey Gunko and modified by the Rapporteur Axel Fischer (Germany).

It was proposed to adopt the rule that “the problem of non-representation in Parliament of certain regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions should be resolved as soon as possible”.

As the newspaper notes, this rule was supported by the overwhelming majority of deputies of the relevant Committee, so it had a significant probability of support in the hall.

The Ukrainian delegation and several Pro-Ukrainian MPs have used the rules of PACE, to prevent the staging of this rule to the vote.

After this proposal was automatically rejected. The original proposal of Andrey Gunko also didn’t have the votes.

The trick failed: the PACE rejected the provision on elections to the Parliament in ORDO 26.01.2017
