The United States urged Russia and China to take action after the missile launch of the DPRK
The United States urges Russia and China to respond to the next rocket launch from North Korea that flew over Japanese territory on September 15. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson, reports Reuters.
“China and Russia should declare their tolerance towards these irresponsible rocket launches, taking direct action,” he said.
The US President was informed about the missile launch and promised that North Korea will never be allowed to threaten the United States with a missile with a nuclear weapon. He also urged China to make greater efforts to rein in its neighbor.
In addition, Reuters writes that the US and South Korea technically are still at war with North Korea, because in the years 1950-53 Korean conflict ended with an armistice, not a peace Treaty.
The North Korean authorities published yesterday, September 14, a statement which has threatened nuclear attacks on the United States and Japan, noting that Japan no longer needed and demanded “to disband the useless UN security Council” because of the tightening sanctions.
On 12 September the UN security Council voted unanimously for new sanctions against North Korea after the sixth and largest nuclear test of Pyongyang. In response to the sanctions, Pyongyang not only refused the development of nuclear-missile program, but also promised to speed it up.
Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia said that will insist on the consideration by the UN security Council’s methods of political influence on the DPRK, proposed by Russia and China opposing sanctions.
