The US temporarily suspended the issuance of nonimmigrant visas on the territory of Turkey. It is reported Bloomberg.

The decision was taken amid deepening tensions between countries on 4 October, the Turkish authorities have arrested employee of the U.S. Consulate in Istanbul. According to the court in Istanbul arrested him on charges of espionage and attempting to destroy the constitutional order and the government of Turkey.

In a statement, the U.S. Embassy in Turkey said that the recent events have forced to reevaluate the safety of employees of diplomatic institutions.

In may 2017 the Commission of the Turkish Parliament to investigate the events of the attempted coup on 15 July 2016 officially announced that the coup attempt in the country is for Gulen.

Gulen is currently in the United States. Ankara already addressed to Washington with the requirement to extradite opposition.
