USA Monday, September 11, intend to convene a meeting of the UN Security Council voting on draft resolution on sanctions against North Korea. It will go on reduced in comparison with the first version. This writes Deutsche Welle, citing Reuters.

The new restrictive measures that will be put to the vote, significantly alleviated. They no longer include freezing the foreign assets of North Korean leader Kim Jong-UN, and the proposed oil embargo will come into force immediately after the signing of the resolution, as previously assumed, and will be introduced step by step. The planned interception and search at sea suspicious North Korean vessels will also be less severe.

Softening sanctions, Washington hopes that the resolution will support China and Russia, which has veto power.

Shortly before a scheduled vote in the UN Security Council for new sanctions against Pyongyang, South Korea has demanded to take strict action against the neighbouring country. Continuous conducting atomic and missile tests, North Korea is behaving recklessly, said the Minister of foreign Affairs of South Korea Kang Kyung-Hwa on Monday, September 11. “The result of this blatant provocation and disregard for the interests of peace-loving members of the international community will be instability and economic difficulties,” said the Korean Minister.

Seoul insists that the UN security Council voted an embargo on DPRK oil and products of its processing.

Earlier, Pyongyang made new threats to Washington, warning that in case of adoption of the resolution, the United States would “pay a price”.

The tightening of sanctions by the DPRK government called illegal, said that the steps, which in this case will go to Pyongyang, would force the United States to experience “severe pain and suffering that they had ever experienced in its history”.
