The Commissioner for human rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova intends to appeal to the UN and the Council of Europe about the fact that EU countries, USA and Canada deny residents of temporarily occupied Crimea in the issuance of visas on foreign passports of the aggressor state. It is reported by the Kremlin propaganda mouthpiece TASS.

“I will contact the UN Secretary General on this issue and to the Council of Europe, because such disqualification is completely illegal, immoral and unreasonable”, – said the Russian Ombudsman.

The situation with the non-issuance of visas to Crimeans Moskalkova called “a flagrant violation of international law related to freedom of movement of citizens”.

“I constantly raised the issue in meetings with ambassadors, and meetings with international organizations. Unfortunately, I don’t find understanding”, – she complained.

USA, Canada and EU countries do not issue visas to Crimeans in the passport of the Russian Federation, as it does not recognize the authority of Russia over the Peninsula it annexed.
