The Board of Executive Directors of the world Bank (WB) supported the candidacy of Jim Yong Kim for the position of President of the organization. About it reports a press-service of the world Bank.

The re-elected President will start fulfilling its duties since 1 July 2017.

Jim Yong Kim elected world Bank President for a second term. He was appointed President of the organization from 1 July 2012.

Kim was the first doctor and the first American of Asian descent, who held the position. In 2012, he was replaced in his post, Robert Zoellick, who was the head of the world Bank since 2007.

The world Bank was re-elected President for a second term 28.09.2016
