The Cabinet of Ministers to extend the transition period for the implementation of the language articles of the law on education for three years – until 2023. About it reports a press-service of the Cabinet.
“During the adoption of the education act we proposed that the transition period was longer, that the children were ready to change. The recommendation of the Venice Commission was another confirmation of the correctness of this decision”, – told the Minister of education Lilia Grinevich.
She also noted that the Hungarian sound false statements as a matter of fact the recommendations of the Venice Commission and Ukraine’s progress in implementing these recommendations. The Minister stressed that now is the artificial delay in the negotiation processes necessary for the implementation of the article.
“We understand all the difficulties faced, in particular, the Hungarian and the Romanian community in Ukraine during the transition to partial teaching in Ukrainian. That is why we do our best to implement the appropriate changes and the changes themselves were balanced and pedagogically correct” – summed up the Minister.
13 February 2018, it was reported that Hungary continues to block Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine as long as Kyiv will not give up the implementation of the law on education.
