The US President Donald trump said that he intends to protect the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender workers under Federal contracts. About it reports Reuters, citing the White house.

According to the report, trump will continue execution of the Executive order signed in 2014, Barack Obama.

“The President is proud to be the first representative of the Republican party, who mentioned the LGBT community in his speech at the inauguration, promising to protect the community from violence and oppression,” – said in a statement.

This step puts trump in contradiction with many of his Republican colleagues who opposed civil rights on the basis of sexual orientation and gender.
