The Turkish Parliament approved the agreement on normalization of relations with Israel. Reported by the BBC.
Consideration of the agreement at the time is frozen after a failed attempt of a military coup in Turkey.
The agreement stipulates that Israel will have to pay about $20 million as compensation for the death of 10 Turkish activists who were killed in 2010. They became the victims of Israeli military RAID on the ship “freedom Flotilla”, which was sent with humanitarian aid to the Gaza strip.
Ankara, by signing the agreement, pledged to cease criminal prosecution of Israelis who became participants of the incident with the ship.
Israel and Turkey signed a document in late July, the Israeli Cabinet has already approved it. In order to fully restore diplomatic relations, Turkey and Israel, appoint new ambassadors.
