The motorcade of the leader of the opposition Republican party, Kemal Kilicdaroglu was fired in the northeastern province of Artvin. Reported by the Daily Sabah.
Interior Minister Efkan Ala said that the attack was carried out by members considered in Turkey the terrorist Kurdistan workers ‘ party (PKK). According to him, the security forces launched an operation to combat terrorism in the region.
He noted that the helicopters were sent to the area where the clashes took place.
The Ala reported that three soldiers from the motorcade were wounded, one of them is in critical condition. It became known later that he died.
