The Turkish army launched a massive bombardment of Kurdish villages in the border region of Afrin in Northern Syria. This was reported by Deutsche Welle.
According to the Kurdish group the YPG, on the night of 19 January in several towns exploded about 70 shells.
The Minister of national defence of Turkey Nurettin Canikli aired on AHaber said that it launched an attack on YPG. While the Turkish military have not crossed the border, he said.

Turkish media reported about the intention of Russian Federation to withdraw Russian military advisers from the region of Afrin. “Negotiations between the two countries about the forthcoming operation continues”, – wrote the edition.
In Russia criticize Turkish military operation in the border region. “We are against. The situation is difficult. Turkey pursues its own interests, but those interests should be correlated with international law”, – said the first Deputy of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Frants Klintsevich.
